Music has always been The Novelty Collective’s greatest point of connection & outreach. Bands, singer-songwriter acts, & poets have long toured through Pittsburgh to perform at The COVE & stop off at Home of the Nomad to rest. Now we have another service to offer the many musicians in our community. Our brand-new Recording Studio—The Nursery—is open for business, rigged with state-of-the-art speakers, monitors, & microphones to ensure only the highest quality in audio production. We also have an assortment of instruments & amplifiers available for you to employ. Whether you play music, podcast, or dictate for audio books, unleash the full potential of your iconic sound at The Nursery.

Professional performer & audio engineer, Sean DeKonty, manages & operates The Nursery. In addition to our recording services, we offer music lessons & practice space. Our Recording Studio was established in memory of an Afterschool student who died in an act of violence during the summer of 2021. He was a talented young man who was well-on his way to becoming a fixture in the local music scene. We hope to honor him by helping other young musicians achieve their dreams at The Nursery.
