Giving Tuesday at NoCo

November 2024

Greetings!

In just one week, The Novelty Collective will be participating in #GivingTuesday, & we have some big goals for 2025 that we are excited to share with you! But first, we want to thank you so much for believing in us & the mission of NoCo. We love what we do, & we feel unmistakably called to this work. I might sound like a broken record by now, but we really couldn't do it without you. Every kind word of encouragement fuels our passion & dedication. Finding out how many of you read our newsletters makes it worth writing another. Brittany & I can't even begin to tell you just how far your financial gifts & in-kind donations have gone toward impacting the people we serve, from Afterschool student to adult artist & everyone in between.

We have had such an awesome season of ministry this year. Our students have been more engaged with art & Bible study, our studios at The COVE have never looked so good, & all our events were out of this world. Brittany & I are incredibly privileged to make space for kids & adults to connect, create, & build lasting relationships with one another.

After nine years of serving the community, NoCo is still growing & evolving into something more & more beautiful. Not only do we hope to refine what we’ve created, but we also want to grow our ministry in the next year. Here are some of the programs, projects, & events we plan to redux & redefine in 2025:

Renew to NoCo

Studio Overhaul: The Creative Reuse Studio is a mix of odds & ends, recycled parts, & tools meant to combine unlikely objects into unique works of art. However, the space currently lacks cohesion. As a result, it has become more disorganized & less accessible. Our goal is to completely remodel & re-outfit the Creative Reuse Studio so artists can create more freely & efficiently.

Open Studios: Open Studios is our monthly gathering for adult artists at The COVE Art Center. It’s an all-day, drop-in style event for people to create, meet up with other artists, or just hang out  & make new friends in a cool space. Our goal is to relaunch Open Studios in February 2025, & we are praying for a few people to help us host again from time to time!

Bible Study: In addition to Afterschool, The Novelty Collective used to host weekly Bible studies for older students. Our goal is to begin again when we return to programming following winter break. This is another component of our ministry that will require additional volunteers, but we have high hopes for 2025!

Summer Day Camp: Our last Summer Day Camp at The COVE was a huge success! Students got to choose from several different classes we don’t normally offer, & we hired professional artists to teach them. It was seriously impressive watching what our kids were able to learn (& create) in just two short weeks! Our goal is to bring Summer Day Camp back in 2025.

These are ambitious goals, but we have faith God will prepare & equip us for the journey. For our part, it is going to take a great deal of planning, establishing new systems, rallying volunteers, & gathering new resources. As I stated earlier, we can’t do it all by ourselves, so we want to invite you to pray & consider partnering with us this #GivingTuesday.

Like many other nonprofits & helping organizations, The Novelty Collective is funded almost entirely by individual donors. Creating a sustainable future is dependent on the support we can raise. By the end of this year, we hope to reach $1,000 in monthly giving. When you break it down, it would only take 100 people giving just $10 per month (that’s only the cost of two lattes, for my fellow coffee drinkers)! If you are willing to commit $10 each month in faith to a ministry run by couple you know & (hopefully!) trust, please visit our campaign page below:

Brittany & I are still in awe that we get to do this. Our life in ministry together has been fraught with challenge & uncertainty, but God consistently shows up. He multiplies our meager offerings & unleashes heaven on earth in ways we can take no credit for—but it all starts with our “yes.” It is through the willing hands of His people that the Spirit of God moves in power.

“Without God, we cannot; without us, God will not.”

– Augustine of Hippo

Much love, & keep creating!

Jordan & Brittany
