Ten at a Time

December 2024

Season’s Greetings,

The Novelty Collective has officially wrapped up programming for 2024. As we reflect on this past season of ministry, we are beginning to feel like this has truly been our best year. There have been many difficult challenges along the way, but the good has far outweighed the bad. God is faithful. We are so grateful for the ways He has chosen to partner with us to bring heaven to earth in our city. It’s our prayer that you too will see His love & power at work in your life & in your community as you seek His face. We look forward to the new year with great expectation!

“Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints & seek to show hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless & do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.”

– Romans 12:9-18

Up Next

The NoCo Team has been planning big things for 2025, & we will be working to solidify our plans for this next season of ministry while we are on winter break. Just in case you missed the November update, here are some of the things you can start getting excited about:

The Creative Reuse Studio is due for an overhaul! Our goal is to completely remodel & re-outfit the Creative Reuse Studio so artists can create more freely & efficiently.

We are going to relaunch Open Studios starting in February. Drop in at The COVE on Saturday, February 22 to create, meet up with other artists, or just hang out  & make new friends in a cool space.

We want to host weekly Bible studies for older students at Home of the Nomad. We are going to need more volunteers in order to make this happen, but we are trusting that God will send us the right help at the right time!

Summer Day Camp will finally return in June 2025! Visual & performing arts classes for middle school & high school students will take place at The COVE Art Center over two weeks during the summer.

Of course, all that will be in addition to our regular program & event schedule. We’ve still got Afterschool, Mother’s Day Art Market, Audiofeed Festival, & NoCo Fest to look forward to, not to mention a couple of other tricks up our sleeves we aren’t quite ready to announce yet!

We are moving towards these goals in faith because we haven’t exactly reached the level of sustainability yet that would enable us to execute our plans with the resources we currently have. God has always provided what we need, & He will again! But we still need lots of help.

10 to 1,000

Our end of year goal is to reach $1,000 in monthly revenue so we can better steward the ministry God has entrusted to us. Our team has been working from a deficit over the past sixteen months, & we have had to make many difficult choices that impact several areas of our ministry. We are asking that you would prayerfully consider giving $10 a month to help us hit our target number. Every small gift makes a huge difference as you help us continue serving hundreds of young people & adult artists across Pittsburgh & the United States. We are so grateful for the individuals who answered our call on Giving Tuesday! The Novelty Collective received three new monthly commitments, not to mention several generous one-time gifts. You can track our progress with us from the campaign page. Whether or not you feel led to give, we could use your prayers in the weeks & months ahead. Thank you for being a part of the NoCo family!

Blessings,

The NoCo Team
